Dar has burdened country with debt: JI LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has been declared most successful finance minister of Asia while ‘burdening his country with mountains of debt’.
Addressing the central executive board of the Pakistan Engineering Forum at Mansoora here on Sunday, he said in spite of vast resources the country had been burdened under huge foreign and domestic loans.
The meeting urged the government to ensure jobs for young engineers and approve service structure and special allowances for them.
Haq claimed every Pakistani was under a debt of Rs100,000. He said the government’s activities had created doubts regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as there were contradictions in the statements and actions of rulers.
He also said the JI’s drive against corruption would continue and the judiciary hold the rulers accountable and recover looted money from them.
JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch said the absence of the prime minister and most federal ministers as well as the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s boycott from the joint session of parliament convened to discuss Kashmir showed a “non-serious attitude”.
He said the situation in Kashmir called for practical measures not mere speeches and resolutions.
