Judiciary donates Rs10m to Edhi Foundation LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Saturday handed over a cheque of Rs10 million to the Edhi Foundation as a donation on behalf of judges and the district judiciary.
Saad Edhi, grandson of the late philanthropist, received the cheque at a ceremony attended by judges and officers of the court.
Justice Shah paid tributes to the services of late Mr Edhi and said people should follow the footsteps of the great humanitarian.
Later, at a meeting with legal correspondents from the print and electronic media, Justice Shah said automation of case management system in the district judiciary would be completed by the end of September. He said revamping of the district judiciary was his top priority.
The chief justice said bar associations and councils had been asked to recommend names to fill vacant slots of judges in the high court. In the evening, the chief justice inaugurated a video link system at Lahore District and Sessions Court.
