Rs190bn tax collected in July ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected revenue worth Rs190 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year as against Rs162bn a year ago, reflecting an increase of 14 per cent, according to provisional figures.
The government has projected a revenue collection target of Rs3.6 trillion for the current fiscal year.
Collection under the head of income tax rose 20pc to Rs73bn in July from Rs61bn in the same month of last year.
The sales tax collection reached Rs86bn during the month from R75bn a year ago, an increase of 15pc.
Federal excise duty collection stood at Rs5bn as against Rs4bn last year, indicating an increase of 25pc.
Customs collection increased 17pc to Rs27bn in July from Rs23bn a year earlier.
