Woman among five injured in Indian shelling MUZAFFARABAD: At least five people, including a woman, were injured when Indian troops resorted to indiscriminate shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said.
“Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in the Battal sector at the LoC in the morning. Pakistani troops responded befittingly to the Indian fire,” the Inter Services Public Relations said in a statement.
A police officer identified the injured as Sajida Kosar, Sain Majeed, Sain Nasir, Master Naseer and Abdul Qadeer.
AFP adds: The Indian army said two of its soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire along the LoC. “One soldier was killed in a firefight as Indian troops pushed back Pakistani infiltrators while another died in a separate incident,” the army said.
